ROSIE

Type: Major Production
Synopsis: "Rosie" is set in New York City in the 1920s during prohibition. It is set in two nightclubs: the Tropicana, owned by Fast Eddie, and The Ritz, soon to be opened by Rosie White. Fast Eddie is the local mob Boss; downstairs in the Tropicana, he runs his gaming tables for his "Underworld" friends and those who like to associate with them. Upstairs, Ginger manages the nightclub that provides a cover for Eddie's elicit business and is the girl’s choreographer. Rosie has just returned from Los Angeles, where she has spent the last ten years "treading the boards" and saving every cent so she could start her nightclub. Before leaving for Hollywood, Rosie ran the nightclub and the Tropicana for Fast Eddie. However, they had a falling out as Rosie disapproved of Fast Eddie's lifestyle, associates and activities at the club. Enter Jimmy the Gentleman; Jimmy has just been released from "the joint", having served time for a jewellery heist that went wrong. There was an upside: Fast Eddie got the jewels and managed to wash the proceeds of the heist as agreed, and Jimmy kept his mouth shut. However, Eddie reneges on their agreement to pay out Jimmy's share on release as nothing is left; it's all been invested into the Tropicana and Eddie's bad debts. There is a code in the underworld that you do not break, and Eddie has broken the code, so he must suffer the consequences in more ways than one.
